Owen has never really gone along with the InGen model of business. It's one thing to bring dinosaurs back to life and quite another to never socialize them, mix species that shouldn't ever be mixed and treat them like machines when they're really living, breathing animals. He's hand-raised his raptors from eggs and as such, they respect him. Do they like him? Probably not - but they think of him as the Alpha most of the time.
When faced with a T. Rex and raptor hybrid? Not so much. New Alpha, new rules, which is why he's using a storefront as cover to try and get away from an animal he'd once considered a partner and a monster that should never have been created. InGen is still all about protecting its "asset" but Owen is interested in just one thing: getting out alive.
He backs through the broken glass storefront in a vain attempt to find something to use as a weapon. There's little chance of that amongst tumblers and t-shirts but he's going to try his best. As he does, he sees a little closet marked ELECTRICAL.
Hmm. He might be able to improvise something from that, right? Owen yanks it open and stumbles inside, hoping to find something to rig up as a weapon to teach the Indominus a lesson. What he finds, though, isn't a weapon or even an electrical closet; he can't even find so much as a fusebox.
What he does find is what looks like a hotel and he's pretty sure they're way the hell away from the resort properties right now. "Hey! You shouldn't be in here," Owen yells out at someone passing by. "We've got a containment emergency. Dinos on the loose. You're supposed to be evacuated by now."
